You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Discovery RV trading as Roma Caravans provides the following warranty in relation to its caravan products.

The benefits of this warranty are in addition to any rights and remedies imposed by Australian State and Federal legislation that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this warranty is to be interpreted as excluding, restricting or modifying and State or Federal legislation applicable to the supply of goods and services which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.


Roma warrants that, subject to the exclusions and limitations below, all parts of the manufacture or assembly of the Caravan carried out by Roma will be free from defects in materials and
workmanship for a period of 3 years from date of delivery.

Unless otherwise indicated, any ‘Demonstrator’ Caravan purchased carries a 3 year warranty from the date of manufacture, not the date of delivery.

This warranty is transferable to a subsequent Purchaser if the Caravan is sold by the original
Purchaser during the warranty period. Use of the Caravan in a commercial capacity will void this warranty.

If a defect appears in Roma’s manufacture or assembly of the Caravan before the end of warranty period and Roma finds the Caravan to be defective in materials or workmanship, Roma will, in its
sole discretion, either:

  • Replace or repair the Caravan or the defective part of the Caravan free of charge; or
  • Cause the Caravan or the defective part of the Caravan to be replaced or repaired by a qualified repairer free of charge.



If a fault covered by warranty occurs, the Purchaser must first contact Roma at the contact address listed below, or an authorised Roma distributor or repair agent.


Any warranty claim must be accompanied by:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Full details of alleged defect
  • Copy of maintenance records
  • Photos

The Purchaser must make the Caravan available to Roma or its authorised distributor or repair agent for inspection and testing. If such inspection and testing finds no defect in the Caravan, the Purchaser must pay Roma’s usual costs of service work, testing and re-handling;

The Purchaser must bear the cost of transport of the Caravan to and from Roma or the authorised Roma distributor or repair agent, and all insurance of the Caravan.


The warranty will not apply where:

  • The Caravan has been repaired, altered or modified by someone other than Roma or an authorised Roma agent;
  • The alleged defect in the Caravan is within acceptable industry variances;
  • Roma cannot establish any fault in the Caravan after testing and inspection;
  • The Caravan has been used other than for the purpose for which it was designed;
  • The Caravan has been used for commercial purposes;
  • The Caravan has been used for permanent residential purposes;
  • The defect in the Caravan has arisen due to the Purchaser’s failure to properly use, operate and maintain the Caravan in accordance with Roma’s instructions, recommendations or specifications including applicable maintenance schedules;
  • The Caravan has been subject to abnormal conditions, including environment, temperature, water , fire, humidity, pressure, stress or similar;
  • The defect has arisen due to abuse, misuse, neglect or accident;
  • Unauthorised parts or accessories have been used on or in relation to the Caravan; or
  • The Caravan has been overloaded, flooded, or involved in an accident.

The warranty does not extend to:

  • Damage or defects caused by normal wear and tear, including impact or stone damage;
  • Water damage caused by creek crossings, flooding and other similar conditions;
  • Damage or defects caused by excessive speed, hard impact or use of the Caravan in unsuitable 4WD or off-road applications
  • Shrinkage, fading, punctures or tears to fabric items such as soft furnishings, mattresses and upholstery; or
  • Damage to surfaces and seals caused by after-treatments such as coatings, protectants and sealants.

The Caravan has been designed for recreational use not for permanent residential purposes.
Premature wear and tear to the Caravan caused by permanent residential use is not covered by this warranty.


The appliances, equipment, fabrics and fittings supplied with or in the Caravan are not manufactured or imported by Roma and are not covered by this warranty. Instead, they are separately warranted by their manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects. Where this is the case, please refer to the individual manufacturer’s warranty documentation provided for the supplied components and their individual manufacturer’s warranty documentation provided for the supplied components and their terms may vary depending on the item.

The separately warranted components may include, but are not limited to:

  • Chassis and running gear;
  • Cooking appliances;
  • Heating and cooling appliances
  • Electrical goods;
  • Batteries;
  • Solar panels; and
  • Soft furnishings and upholstery.


This warranty does not apply to maintenance items which are the responsibility of the Purchaser.
The maintenance items include but are not limited to:
  • Wheel bearing servicing and adjustment;
  • Cleaning and replacement of filters, and
  • General greasing and tightening of components.


Roma makes no express warranties or representations other than set out in this warranty.

The repair or replacement of the Caravan or part of the Caravan is the absolute limit of Roma’s liability under this express warranty.
